The true woman is demure and submissive.

And assertive and commands the room. Just your everyday boss bitch.

However, society has created two boxes, labelled male and female. The former filled with strength, leadership, macho traits while the latter is graceful, empathetic, sensitive. This is the positive side of these boxes. At the corner of the male box is egotistical, boastful, aggressive traits, but this is necessary for becoming a great leader (as all men are born to be). In the female box is gossiping, nosy, complaining. The traits are necessary for becoming a nag, as women are destined to become. I mean, why won’t they nag. Those women, so eager to take on the role of a man. This is probably why marriages are failing nowadays, Women don’t let men be men.

If you haven’t already noticed, that was me being sarcastic. I was basically in tears writing that line. Imagine me conforming to gender roles. LOL

The gender role is a concept created by people who thrive in suppressing the power of women and the hearts of men. I say this because men are taught, they can be anything. Literally everything! Even the ‘roles’ of women, men dominate as well. Men can be hairdressers, fashion designers, models, chefs, even the favourite parent. Not all their endeavours are encouraged since it threatens their ‘masculinity’, but generally, they are encouraged to dominate everything, EVERYTHING. Women, on the other hand, are told to be soft-spoken, modest, innocent. They are praised for being virgins, the highest order of innocence. They are encouraged to be the best at what they do, cooking, cleaning, maybe being a career woman (if the BOSS BOSS is a man tho).

My point is that human beings, as diverse and dynamic, are always encouraged to put themselves in boxes. Boxes of masculinity and femininity, boxes of sexuality, just boxes. The funny part is we are pushed into these boxes while being told to ‘step out of the box.’ Take the anti-man feminist view on feminism. As a feminist, she encourages gender equality but only if it is achieved by encouraging ‘femininity’. That is, women can be whatever they want, as long as it is within those ‘feminine’ traits. Take over the business industry but only by being gentle, sophisticated, acting in a manner befitting a proper lady. Most importantly having a uterus is an essential factor. Take notes people: NO UTERUS, NO SERVICE.

That was also sarcasm if you didn’t notice

Men have also been trapped in boxes. They are forced to abandon emotion and sensitivity. They are called simps, f*gs, pussies (why are insults based on female parts tho. Another discussion for another day) for not conforming to typical ‘male’ behaviour. God forbid a guy who doesn’t like sports or video games or vaginas. God forbid a guy who loves to talk about their feelings and treats girls kindly because they want to; not a weird plot to win her affection (and if that doesn’t work becomes an asshole cause all girls love assholes. UGHH!).

This might seem weird, but feminism is for everyone. For the guy who’s tired of being strong all the time. Tired of being held to ridiculous notions of being the only breadwinner in the family (when there’s a perfectly able lady or guy in the house, with a job that can also contribute). For the woman who is tired of not being ‘woman’ enough, who just want to be her unapologetically bossy self, her ratchet self, her loud, brash self.

True feminism recognises times are changing. People are breaking away from labels. It recognises the fact that people can do whatever they want ( as long as it doesn’t involve dismembering, murder, kidnapping, shanking… you get my drift). People aren’t restricted to what society thinks is the true man or woman or non-binary individual. So, to him, her and they, don’t confine yourself to hypocritical gender and societal boxes. Be a stay-at-home dad or mom. Be a businessperson. Be a scientist. Be a hoe. Be emotional. Be gay. Be bisexual. Be a classy, moody, ratchet bitch. Be a savage (a respectful one). Most importantly BE.

Key quotes: “I knew I was different. I thought that I might be gay or something because I couldn’t identify with any of the guys at all. None of them liked art or music. They just wanted to fight and get laid. It was many years ago but it gave me this real hatred for the average… macho male.”
― Kurt Cobain, lead singer of Nirvana

“Women were created from the rib of man to be beside him, not from his head to top him, nor from his feet to be trampled by him, but from under his arm to be protected by him, near to his heart to be loved by him.”
― Matthew Henry, An Exposition of the Old and New Testament Volume 6
