What to do when your president is the biggest joke on the planet?
The answer is simple enough: resist, rebel and revolt!
Nigeria is facing one of its most significant uprisings in history, greater than Moremi’s infiltration, greater than Jaja of Opobo’s actions and it would be an insult to minimize this struggle by refusing to write on it. Inspiration hits you in different ways, but it refused to hit me concerning the END SARS movement, but in correct revolution actions, I refused to accept that.
So here I am.
I will explain why we protest. We protest for life. We protest to protect the future the older generation refuses to relinquish. We protest to fight the enemies of progress that refuse to allow us, the Nigerian youth, the so called ‘Leaders of tomorrow’, the pride and joy of Nigeria, break the chains of poverty.
SARS or SWAT (whatever they call themselves these days) waged war on us when they decided our looking good was means to exploit us. They see the way we dress, the phones we have, the cars we drive and decided we were not allowed to climb the ladder to success. They use songs and fables of Yahoo (people who engage in fraud and scamming) boys and girls as an excuse to rob and wipe our bank accounts clean. They use loaded guns and sharp word to instil fear in us if we refuse to cooperate, and if you so much as look at them funny, they WILL end your life. They break our mother’s hearts and cause tears to roll down the cheeks of our strong fathers. They rape our sisters. That’s not enough; they refuse our loved ones the peace of burials. NO, instead they force fathers to search rivers of blood and gore, rivers filled not with fish and sea life, but rivers of dead swollen bodies of innocent youth.
So, when we say we are awake, Nigeria should tremble. The youth are awake, and slowly we are waking up the elders. Soon our ancestors will open their eyes and rain terror on those who wronged us.
All those useless overweight pigs that are rolling in our tax money, in the blood of our bullet-ridden brothers and the blood of our sisters’ ravaged wombs. Those corruption- infested swine sitting pretty in Aso rock. The youth are coming. We would not rest till justice is served, and Nigeria becomes the land of peace and unity she is destined to be.
Arise O compatriots, Nigeria has called.
It is time. We must obey.
